The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 272 Getting Her To Blossom

The two of them left the square and walked together through the snow. Nights in Frostveil were a world of white, the sky above glittering with countless stars, looking as beautiful as a painting. Emma touched the two small leaves that had sprouted on her head and asked curiously, "Silas, will our fruit be hanging from your head too in the future?" She couldn't help wondering how it'd work. Would it hang from a branch growing straight out, like the ones she'd carved before? Or would it hide among his hair, like how it was hiding in hers? Silas glanced at the little leaves on her head and explained patiently, "It usually hangs from the father's chest, which makes it easier for him to absorb energy. But if it prefers to hang from my head, that's fine too." "Can it talk or move? And if it's hanging from your chest, would it be hiding under your clothes or outside?"Emma kept asking questions, full of curiosity about the soon-to-be-born fruit. The corner of Silas' mouth twitched slightly. "Most fruits can't talk at first. But ours has very high potential, and it's already got awareness. I'm not sure when it'll start speaking." He paused before continuing, "Maybe it'll talk as soon as it's born. Who knows? "As for whether it'll be inside or outside my clothes, it really depends on our little buddy." Emma thought for a moment and said seriously, "Let's keep it inside your shirt. If it stays out, what'll we do if it gets knocked off somehow?" Silas took a step forward and pulled her into his arms. "Emma, you shouldn't be worrying about it right now. You should be thinking of me instead!" he said with a pout. After all, the fruit wasn't even born yet. "I have to raise it for three whole years, Emma!" That would be three years of not being able to compete for her affection.Hearing the pitiful tone in his voice, Emma suddenly felt bad. But at the same time, she couldn't stop herself from wanting to laugh. No, she had to stop herself from doing that. Emma wrapped her arms around Silas' waist and asked softly, "Is there no other way?" Silas shook his head pitifully. "No." As soon as he finished, he lifted her up. "That's why you'll have to make it up to me now, Emma." Before she could even react, Silas had already carried her back to the room. Meanwhile, he meant what he said. For five whole days, Silas didn't let her step out of the room. Whenever she fell asleep from exhaustion, he would feed her a few blossoms for a faster recovery. He never seemed to be tired, full of endless strength and energy. It wasn't until the seventh leaf sprouted from Emma's head and small flower buds appeared did Silas finally let her go. Emma was convinced that Silas was the real succubus here. As she ate her meal in the dining room, she shot him a glare and asked, "When will I bloom?" Now that the buds had already appeared, it shouldn't take long, right? "Most likely tomorrow," Silas replied softly with a gentle smile. "Do I need to be in a warm environment? Should I not head out the next few days?" Emma touched the small buds on her head as she asked. Silas knew she had been cooped up in the room for days and wanted to get some fresh air. "It's fine," he said gently. "It won't be affected by the weather. If you want to go out for a walk, we can head outside shortly." But just as he finished speaking, his lightcore chimed. Silas glanced at the notification and frowned slightly before turning to Emma with an apologetic smile. "Get some rest, Emma. I have a video conference, but I'll be back soon to take you out." Marcus had gone out with Corvin and Edric to hunt beasts, so none of them were home. "Alright." Emma nodded. "Go handle your work. I'll be fine here with the wolf clan." "I won't be long!" Silas promised before heading to Marcus' study. After eating, Emma walked to the waterfall inside the house, only to see a little wolf pup rush in, panic written all over its face. "Big Devil! The dragon isn't moving anymore!" "The dragon?" Emma quickly stepped forward, looking down at the small cub that barely reached her knee. "What are you talking about?" Was it someone from Aquadome? Seeing her, the little wolf cub cried out anxiously, "It looks like the dragon's heading to meet the Beast God!" With that, it bit onto Emma's pant leg and tugged hard. "Don't pull me! I'll come with you," Emma said, following the cub outside. While heading out, she sent Silas a message. 'A wolf pup's saying some dragon is in trouble, so I'm going to check it out. Drop by when you're done, alright?' She turned on her location tracker and sent it to him. With that, Emma ran after the cub toward the snow mountains. As they went, she got the full story. Apparently, two wolf pups had come here to play, and right after arriving, they saw a huge black dragon lying motionless in the snow, seemingly on the brink of death.
