The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 250 Marcus' Shock

"I don't want to talk to you." Corvin didn't want to deal with Marcus and carried the food into the kitchen. Marcus stayed quiet. Edric walked over, gave Marcus a quick look, and went outside to pick up the pearls for Emma. Emma had planned to send Corvin, but since he wanted to clean the kitchen, she asked Edric instead. Marcus stayed silent again. Why are both of them acting strangely so early in the morning? Kieran was the last to come downstairs. He looked at Edric leaving, then at Marcus, who sat up on the couch. "You really are impressive." After saying that, he grabbed his luggage and left. Marcus froze. What does that even mean? What is going on with these three? He hadn't done anything. Impressive? What did that even refer to? Marcus felt completely lost. He stood up and went upstairs to find Emma. All three of them had come out of her room acting weird. Something must have happened in there while he wasn't around. … When he entered, Emma was sitting on the bed, staring at a handful of pink pearls the size of pigeon eggs, thinking about what to do with them. Kieran really could cry. The pearls he cried out were perfectly round and big, all looking almost the same. When the door opened, she looked up for a second. Seeing that it was him, she pretended not to notice and went back to studying the pearls. Marcus closed the door and walked over. Seeing that she only looked at the pearls and ignored him, he felt wronged. He sat beside her, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, and rested his chin on her shoulder. "Did I do something that made you mad? You didn't even look at me when I came in." Usually, whenever he came into her room, no matter how busy she was, she would smile at him. However, she looked at him once and ignored him. That only made Marcus more certain that something had happened while he wasn't there, and it had something to do with him. Emma put away the pearls, turned to him with a smile, and said, "I'm not mad. In fact, I should be congratulating you." "Congratulating me?" Marcus' face tensed at the word. "For what?" What could possibly be worth congratulating him for? He already had a bad feeling about it. Emma held his hand and placed it on her belly. "Of course, I'm congratulating you because you're going to be a dad." He froze. "What did you just say?" Marcus must have been hearing things again. His mental power must have been acting up. Who is becoming a dad? Emma didn't let him off the hook. She spoke clearly, word by word. "I said, congratulations. You're going to be a dad. The baby in my belly is yours." She smiled brightly at him. "Marcus, aren't you happy? Don't you feel excited?"Marcus stayed frozen. It felt like the sky had fallen. Is the baby in her belly really mine? "Are you… Are you joking with me?" he asked. "This isn't funny." He was so shocked that he pulled away from her and dropped to his knees in front of her. "Please believe me. It's impossible. It really can't be me." There was no way it could be him. Out of everyone, he was the least likely one. Emma looked at how desperate he seemed. She didn't know whether to laugh or get angry. "I didn't want to believe it either, but that's the truth. Kieran brought something from Aquadome that can identify who the father is. Corvin and Edric already tried it, and it proved it's not them." "What kind of thing?" Marcus asked. He had never heard that Aquadome had something like that. Emma took out the little object Kieran brought. "This thing," she said. "Kieran said that if you put my hair and my partner's hair on it, whichever strand gets tangled with mine shows who the father is." As soon as he heard that, Marcus yanked a strand of his hair and put it on the mirror. He stared at Emma anxiously. At the sight of what he had done, Emma's mouth twitched. "What's that supposed to mean?" Right now, the only ones officially bonded to her were Marcus, Corvin, and Edric. Since the other two were ruled out, that left Marcus. Was he saying he didn't believe her? Marcus realized he had misunderstood her and quickly explained. "I don't doubt you. I just don't believe this thing Kieran brought." To make his point, he swore immediately. "I swear to the Beast God, if I'm doubting you, allow the Beast God to punish me." "I know you're not doubting me," Emma said. "You just don't want the baby, so you don't want to believe it." She plucked a strand of her own hair and placed it on the mirror. "Since you don't believe it, let's test it. If it proves the baby is yours, what will you do?"
