The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Corvin texted, 'Good news, guys! Edric has broken through. We can bond with Emma now.' Silas and Lucien really should be praising his loyalty, especially since he shared the fantastic news with them the second he could. Edric had broken through. Silas, who had survived the bitter trial that was his meeting, immediately lit up when he read Corvin's message. Then, he texted, 'That's so sudden. How did it happen?' He had assumed that they would have to wait for at least another two months. Corvin replied, 'A Rank 10 beast suddenly showed up in the forest we were in. He broke through when he fought it.' Lucien and Silas' eyes turned sharp when they saw that message. Lucien questioned, 'How the hell did that happen? A Rank 10 beast at Planet A3 is practically unheard of.'Planet A3 was a planet close to the Central Planet. The closer one got to the Central Planet, the higher the population density of females would get. The Empire had taken extra care to eliminate any and all beasts above Rank 8 from their neighboring planets in order to ensure the females' safety. Corvin answered, 'I haven't a clue. It just showed up out of the blue.' Silas messaged, 'I'll send my subordinates to take a look at the area. Corvin, tell Marcus to keep Emma safe.' Corvin responded, 'Understood.' Now that they were done talking about the heavy stuff, Lucien suddenly inquired, 'Corvin, why didn't you add Marcus to the group?' Corvin's refusal to add him to the group was simple. 'He's not interested in winning Emma's favor. Why bother?' Marcus wasn't like them. They wanted to stay with Emma till death did them part, whereas Marcus just wanted to end his life.Lucien said, 'You should add him anyway.' They were all Emma's mates, so isolating Marcus wouldn't paint a pretty picture of them. So, Corvin immediately added Marcus to the group. Marcus answered with a simple question mark. Why did they have a new chat group? Once Marcus was in here, Corvin immediately tagged Silas and texted, 'Silas, we can bond with Emma once Edric wakes up. I'm second in line, so can you teach me a little something? What should I do to make Emma satisfied when we bond?' Could this even be taught? Lucien stared at Corvin's ridiculous questions and remained silent. To be honest, he wanted to see what Silas would say to Corvin. Alas, Silas never responded in the group chat, no matter how long he waited. Lucien, who was in his office, tapped against the armrest of his chair. "Did that clever little man private message Corvin?" ... Marcus, who had made himself comfortable in his crystal coffin, was also waiting for Silas' reply. He kept waiting even though his eyes were screaming for sleep. Alas, Silas never responded. A pale blue liger beast was sprawled across the couch while his paws tapped away on his lightcore. There was a pink rabbit right next to Corvin, and it was reading whatever was on Corvin's lightcore. Marcus padded in silently, his eyes falling on Corvin's screen. Silas had just texted Corvin, saying, 'When it comes to bonding, explanations won't really work. You probably wouldn't understand even if I tried to teach you. So, just read the books I recommended.' Then, he promptly sent Corvin two links. Marcus took out two Rank 10 insect cores and said, "Forward the links to me."Corvin nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard Marcus. "Marcus, aren't you supposed to be sleeping in your crystal coffin? When did you get here?" Marcus merely slid the proffered insect cores closer to Corvin. "A few seconds ago. Now, just send me the links." Corvin stared at him in disbelief. I can't believe he'd sneakily read my messages with Silas! He's so annoying. What was even more annoying was that he wasn't as strong as Marcus, so he couldn't beat that d*mned wolf up. In the end, he had no choice but to reluctantly take those insect cores and forward those links to Marcus. "You can look all you want, but you'd better not let Silas know that I forwarded them to you." Silas had specifically told him not to tell anyone earlier. Marcus nodded. "I won't." Marcus didn't bother sticking around the second he got the links. However, what Corvin didn't know was that the rabbit had sneakily memorized the links when he had been busy conversing with Marcus. Then, the rabbit slipped away, turned on his light core, and quickly found the books Silas had recommended to Corvin. Malrik shot a look at Corvin and noticed that the liger was totally engrossed with his book. So, he hid in the corner and clicked on one of the books. When he saw the contents, his eyes turned to saucers. Goodness! I never would've thought that the cunning commander would read things like this in private! Then again, it was true that books were paths to a new world. At least he had never known certain things could be done in that position. Wow. Just… wow. Emma, who had fallen asleep next to Edric, had no idea what was going on with her mates. Edric never woke, whereas Emma woke up several times throughout the night just to check on him.She would only go back to sleep when she was sure that his breathing remained steady. Aria's babble was what woke her up the next day. "Emma, are you awake? Wake up! I've brought you tons of goodies!" Aria and her mate had gone to the other side of the forest last night. Thus, none of them had any idea what had happened yesterday.
