The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 158 Sweet Mischief and Hidden Plans

Corvin absolutely loved the taste. How could something be this delicious? Because it was so good, he devoured it at lightning speed. His joy was obvious—his furry ears perked up, and a dab of cream had smudged across his nose, making him look ridiculously adorable. Emma bit back a laugh and quickly wiped the cream across his face. "Ms. Tibarn?" Corvin froze, looking up with his face covered in cream, his clear eyes wide with confusion. "What's going on?" Why was Emma smearing food on his face? "Corvin, you're so cute like this." The little cat was unbearably adorable. Emma's heart melted at his innocent expression. She fought the urge to reach out and ruffle his ears, forcing herself to speak instead."My cake's not perfect yet. I'll make another one. You guys go ahead and enjoy this for now." Corvin wiped the cream from his face and, as Emma walked away, turned to Marcus. "Marcus, do you really think I'm cute like this?" With food smeared all over him? How could he possibly be cute? Marcus looked at him, then nodded. "Adorably stupid." Corvin was speechless. That remark deserved a punch. He ground his teeth, straightened up, and tried to act all serious and in charge. "Marcus, even though you're Rank 11, in this family, your position depends on how long you've been with Ms. Tibarn. You were the last to reach her side, so you're the youngest, got it?" Marcus hesitated, then nodded. "I got it." Corvin continued, "Since you're the youngest, you have to do as I say. Now, show me your ears."Marcus wasn't sure what he meant, but he thought for a moment and obediently revealed his ears. Last night, Lucien had made it clear: no fighting in front of Emma, and no arguing either. If he couldn't get along, he'd have to pack up and leave. Seeing Marcus' ears exposed, Corvin scooped a chunk of cream and, in one swift motion, smeared it on Marcus' face. "Ha! Now, you're just like me. Marcus, you're adorable now too." Adorably stupid. Marcus went silent. He couldn't fight in front of Emma. Could he at least drag this guy somewhere private and punch him? … In a secluded castle on Central Planet, Merlin stared at the reports his subordinates had retrieved, his anger bubbling like molten lava. "Are you sure this information is accurate? The female I had my eye on—the one named Emma—is the huntress Beast God matched with that useless Malrik?"His subordinate trembled. "Sir, I double-checked the reports myself. It's accurate. No mistakes. Furthermore, we've looked into that female named Emma. She's from F-268, orphaned. She currently has four matches and one mate. The matches are: Edric of the Violet Obsidian Clan, Corvin of Ravaryn, Commander Hamblin, and Marcus of the Frostveil Wolf Clan. Her first mate is Prince Lucien, Aurelia's second prince, already a Rank 11." The subordinate vanished into the shadows after speaking. Merlin's aura darkened further, dangerously intense. "She has two Rank 11s by her side?" Emma was just a Rank 5 female. Yet, Beast God had paired her with two Rank 11s. Has that ancient fool finally lost it? "I don't care!" Merlin growled through clenched teeth. "The female I choose belongs to me. All mine." He removed the mask from his face, staring into the mirror at the face he had loathed for twenty-nine years. "My dear brother, you've taken so much from me. Now, it's time to repay me. Give me your huntress!" Hahaha! Merlin tossed the mask to the ground and crushed it underfoot. "Since Lucien is Emma's mate, she'll attend the queen of Aurelia's birthday banquet tomorrow. Prepare everything accordingly." He traced the reflection of his face in the mirror. "Starting tomorrow, I am Malrik. Ms. Tibarn hasn't heard from me in so long—she must be anxious. It's time I return to her side." … That evening, Lucien and Silas returned. Emma could hardly contain her excitement as she told them about today's winnings. She handed the castle deed to Lucien. The Gravicar that had been delivered that afternoon sat parked just outside the living room. Emma pulled Lucien and Silas outside and pointed to it. "This Gravicar? Corvin already checked it. No problems. But the castle… I didn't dare rush over without checking. I'm not sure if there are any issues." Even with a golden opportunity falling into her lap, Emma's habit of caution remained. Best to investigate first before creating unnecessary trouble. Lucien glanced at the castle deed in his hand and listened as Emma recounted everything about her lucky day.
