The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
In interstellar, things like this were common—almost ordinary, really. After all, females enjoyed it too. Edric thought for a moment, then spoke gently to Emma. "Emma, if you want… Corvin's here, and Silas probably can too. The two of them—" Before he could finish, Emma clamped her hand over his mouth. Good grief! Could you not say things like that? She might want to, but she definitely didn't dare. Her tiny body wouldn't survive it. "Edric, I know what you mean," she said quickly, "but I think it's better to take things one at a time." Edric blinked, then nodded seriously, as if enlightened. Only then did Emma let go of him. Just then, Corvin came back, carrying Coalball.Around Coalball's chubby ankle was a thin golden chain—one Emma didn't recognize the material of. It looked sleek and delicate, yet unshakably strong. Even more impressively, the chain could stretch and retract freely, up to 300 feet long. Corvin proudly held it up like a trophy. "Emma, this is made from leftover alloy I used for building my mech. Even a Rank 9 therian couldn't break it. I made it into an anklet for Coalball. With this, he'll never get lost again." Coalball's feathers puffed. Excuse me? I'm at level ten peak, thank you very much. Practically Rank 11. Emma stared, astonished, as Corvin handed her the chain. "I can't believe this thing's that strong." She glanced from the chain in her hand to Edric beside her. "Edric, could you break it?" Meeting Emma's bright, eager eyes, Edric felt oddly puzzled. What was so exciting about a chain? Still, he answered seriously, "I'm at level nine peak. It might take a bit of effort, but yeah, I could probably break it." No way was he going to admit he couldn't do something in front of Emma. … When they arrived at their destination, everyone got off the starrail. Edric released his Gravicar and helped Emma into the seat. "Emma, you've been on the starrail for so long—you must be tired. Want to rest at my estate first? Once you're refreshed, we can head to the clan." He'd already sent people to keep an eye on the Violet Obsidian Clan these past few days—no one was getting away. Emma shook her head. "No need. Let's deal with business first." Priorities came first. Besides, the trip on the starrail had been perfectly comfortable."All right," Edric said. "Then, let's head straight to the Violet Obsidian Clan." He led the group toward their destination. Central Planet was enormous. Even though the starrail had stopped at the nearest station, it would still take an entire day to reach Violet Obsidian Clan's territory by Gravicar. And if they wanted to reach the clan's central grounds, that would be another half day. Outside the window, the skies were crowded with other Gravicars—sleek, gleaming, all of them top-class. Emma couldn't help but sigh. "No wonder they call this Central Planet. There's not a single poor therian here." And certainly no weak ones either. Since stepping off the starrail, every therian she'd seen was at least Rank 6 or 7. Rank 6s were as common as strays. Rank 7s walked the streets. Rank 8s and 9s—plenty of those too."If you like it here," Corvin said, still holding Coalball, "we could always live here. Edric and I both have estates on Central Planet. It wouldn't be hard to get you resident status—you could stay wherever you want." After holding back the entire journey, Thero from Aquadome finally seized his chance to speak. Smiling warmly, he said, "Ms. Emma Tibarn, you should come visit Aquadome too. It's vast—and underwater, you'll find not just our Onyx Drakonids, but also the Merfolk, the Azure Drakonids, the Ivory Drakonids, and the Cymarans…" He brightened as he went on. "Ms. Emma Tibarn, I wonder if you've heard of the Cymarans? Like the Merfolk, they're beautiful people. And Cymaran therians have a unique trait—the males are the ones who give birth." Throughout the journey, Thero had watched Edric and Corvin constantly tending to Emma—serving, teasing, flattering her—and he'd grown more and more worried for Drake. With that temper of his, how was Drake supposed to compete with these two shameless charmers? If Drake lost her favor completely, what then? Thero decided the best plan was to find another Aquadome male—someone powerful, handsome, and attentive—to help Drake keep his place and compete with Emma's mates. Beaming, Thero turned to Emma again. "Ms. Emma Tibarn, we have plenty of strong, high-ranked, attractive males in Aquadome—men who really know how to make a female happy. If you'd like, I could arrange for a few to look after you." He sighed dramatically. "I mean, really, you only have Edric and Corvin around you. That's far too few to take proper care of you." "Don't listen to this old fool, Ms. Emma Tibarn," Jimmy cut in sharply, glaring at Thero. "He's just worried Mr. Smith will mistreat you and you'll stop loving him."
