Stranded with the Goddess
We arrived at the bamboo forest and did a simple patrol of the surroundings. Apart from bamboo rats, we found no traces of other wild beasts. Jiang Dandan trailed behind us, dragging her feet. I swung the axe to chop down the bamboo, and after processing it, Wang Yan and Jiang Dandan started to transport it backwards. After working for an hour, Jiang Dandan threw a tantrum, claiming back pain and leg cramps, and refused to continue. Eventually, under my repeated threats, she reluctantly carried on. Wang Yan, on the other hand, hadn't slacked off at all, and was drenched in sweat. Comparing their work efficiency, Wang Yan made three trips for every one of Jiang Dandan's, and Wang Yan carried at least two bamboo poles per trip, while Jiang Dandan not only carried one pole per trip but also took a long time to select them. Seeing that noon was approaching and I couldn't stand it any longer, I let Wang Yan take a break. Wang Yan didn't complain at all, and my fondness for her grew even stronger. "Take a rest too," Wang Yan said, coming up to me with the water bottle. Boom! I pulled out the axe, and with a loud crash, the bamboo fell. I took the water bottle from Wang Yan's hand and took a drink. She stepped forward and wiped the sweat from my forehead with her sleeve. "Oh, aren't you two lovebirds," Jiang Dandan whistled as she came back, mocking us with her comment. I took a drink of water and looked at Jiang Dandan, saying, "Can you work a bit faster?" "Lu Yuan, it's already great that this young lady is working. What more do you want!" Jiang Dandan retorted. I sighed. Jiang Dandan had me by the short hairs, and I couldn't afford to completely fall out with her now.
At this thought, I couldn't help feeling a bit frustrated. Jiang Dandan took a sip of water and shouted at us, 'Hey, we've been working all morning, aren't you guys hungry?' I glanced at Wang Yan, who shook her head, indicating she wasn't very hungry, after all, she had eaten a whole sturgeon for breakfast. 'We're not hungry, we can hold on,' I shouted back. Jiang Dandan, covering her stomach in exasperation, yelled, 'I can't stand it anymore, I'm going to find some wild fruits to eat.' With that, she walked off by herself. I took a deep breath, spat into my hand, and continued chopping bamboo, while Wang Yan tidied up the bamboo I had processed. About fifteen minutes later, seeing that Jiang Dandan had not returned, I smashed the axe into the ground and cursed, 'Damn it! What on earth is Jiang Dandan doing?' Wang Yan saw I was angry and said, 'All along, it's been you telling me not to take Jiang Dandan seriously, how come now you're angry yourself.' I glanced at Wang Yan, and at that moment, a scream shattered the silence of the bamboo forest. 'Lu Yuan, save me! Save me!' Instinctively, I picked up the axe and drew the Type 92 pistol I always carried at the back of my waist. From not far away came Jiang Dandan's desperate cries for help. 'Something's happened!' I looked at Wang Yan, and the two of us hurried over. We hadn't run far when I saw a frenzied wild boar chasing Jiang Dandan, about to gore her buttocks. I quickly fired, the bullet hitting the wild boar.
The wild boar let out an angry roar and stopped to look in my direction. Wang Yan grabbed my arm, her voice tense: 'Lu Yuan, what should we do?' 'You go, I'll cover the rear!' My heart immediately shot up to my throat, and my hands began to tremble uncontrollably. I looked around, but Jiang Dandan had already fled somewhere, that girl was definitely a troublemaker. 'Be careful,' Wang Yan hesitated for a moment. She knew she couldn't be of much help here, so she turned and hurried towards the outside of the bamboo forest. The wild boar was panting where it stood, and I saw several blood droplets falling from its body. A broken arrow was sticking out of its left eye, very conspicuous. Seeing this broken arrow, my head buzzed. The wild boar recovered and charged straight at me. How could I dare to face this injured and frenzied wild boar head-on, so I quickly dodged using the bamboo. Boom! With a loud noise, the bamboo behind me was directly smashed by the wild boar. I swallowed saliva; this was fucking more efficient than my bamboo cutting. I couldn't be careless, and I fired another shot at the wild boar. The wild boar roared and turned around to charge at me frantically. I couldn't dodge in time, and I thought to myself, this is bad. With no other choice, I had to muster all my strength and swing the axe. The axe struck the wild boar's head fiercely, and blood gushed out, splashing all over my face. I was amazed at my own strength; the axe was embedded in the wild boar's skull. At that moment, the frenzied wild boar, with its last bit of strength, directly sent me flying. I hit a bamboo and then crashed from mid-air onto the ground.
I felt as if my internal organs were being shredded, and my consciousness began to blur. The wild boar let out an unwilling cry and then collapsed to the ground with a thud. I gasped for air, lying on my back in the bamboo forest. Bamboo leaves fell slowly with the wind, and everything around became unusually quiet, followed by a loss of consciousness. 'Lu Yuan! Lu Yuan!' A buzzingTinnitus with a buzzing sound,I suddenly woke up。Wang Yan tearfully pushed me with pear blossoms,After tinnitus ends,All the sounds became clear。 I suddenly woke up to a buzzing in my ears. Wang Yan, with tears streaming down her face like rain on pear blossoms, was shaking me. After the ringing in my ears stopped, all the sounds became clear. 'Thank goodness, you're not dead, you're not dead!' Wang Yan hugged my head tightly. I was pressed against her huge breasts, struggling to breathe. Jiang Dandan pulled at Wang Yan, shouting, 'Are you trying to suffocate Lu Yuan, you bitch!' Wang Yan quickly let go of me, awkwardly wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes, and said, 'Lu Yuan, I'm sorry.' I clutched my chest, enduring the severe pain, and said, 'It's okay, the wild boar is dead, right?' 'Dead, you're amazing, you actually killed the wild boar with an axe,' Jiang Dandan said in disbelief. I endured the pain and sat up, glancing at the wild boar I had killed. The half of the arrow stuck in the wild boar's left eye tapped at my nerves, and the memory of the traces of wild boar I had discovered while catching sturgeon that day flashed through my mind. 'They're coming,' I muttered. Wang Yan thought I had been hit silly and waved her hand in front of my eyes, asking, 'Who's coming?' 'The wild people are coming,' I said. Hearing what I said, both Wang Yan and Jiang Dandan were stunned. I glanced at Jiang Dandan and asked, 'How did you provoke this wild boar?'
“I found three little piglets and was thinking of catching them for lunch, but then I ran into this wild boar,” Jiang Dandan said. “Luckily, this wild boar was injured, otherwise you would be a stiff corpse by now,” I said. A flash of terror crossed Jiang Dandan's eyes, and her body trembled involuntarily. Holding my chest, I said in pain, “Go get Xia Lan and the others; we're running low on rations.” This time, Jiang Dandan didn't dawdle and hurried back to call Xia Lan and the others. Wang Yan and the others carried the wild boar and the remaining bamboo back. Jiang Dandan, with Xia Lan, also found the three little wild boars and brought them back to the cave. I was supported back to the cave by Lin Xian'er and Zhang Xi'er. Lin Xian'er gave me a full body check and said, “You're really lucky, just some superficial wounds, no internal injuries.” “But I'm in so much pain, it really hurts!” I gritted my teeth. “There are still some herbs left, I'll mix you a medicine, and you'll be fine after drinking it,” Lin Xian'er said. I nodded, lying on the haystack, with the image of the arrow stuck in the wild boar's left eye lingering in my mind.
