Project Blackout: The Forest Lab

Chapter 9: Doubtful Voices

"Fang Bing, what exactly is the Green Skinny Snake..." Ma Ling stared blankly at the phone that had already hung up, the urgent voice of the operator echoing in her mind. "I don't know much either, I just know that if the poison from the Green Skinny Snake isn't treated within an hour, death is very likely... and it can't be jostled, otherwise the poison spreads faster," Fang Bing shook his head and said. That was all he knew, and that was only after Wang Hao saved him and he specifically went to find out some information from Wang Hao. Ma Ling was about to speak when she was interrupted by a ringtone. She hurriedly looked at her phone, but there was no response. A flash of disappointment crossed her eyes; it wasn't her phone that had rung. "Ma Ye is saved..." Fang Bing took out his phone with a face full of surprise, looking at the caller ID on the screen, his smile grew even wider, and he quickly answered. "Brother Hao, I need help here... Ma Ye has been bitten by a Green Skinny Snake, on the grassy mountain," Fang Bing said urgently. Ma Ling originally brightened up upon hearing that there was a chance of salvation, and so did the other students. A strong glint of hope flashed in the desperate eyes of the teacher leading the group. But after hearing the words 'Brother Hao', Ma Ling felt somewhat disappointed. She listened to the voice on the other end of the phone for a moment; it was indeed that annoying Wang Hao who never participated in class activities. The other students also showed a hint of disappointment. Could a classmate who didn't fit in with them solve a snakebite that even the hospital treated as a formidable enemy? "First, stand the person up, then press down on the protrusions on both sides of the neck. I'll be right there."

Wang Hao spoke urgently, 'Green snake venom can't be delayed at this time; it can be fatal if left untreated for too long. Moreover, if the toxin enters the brain, even if treated, the victim could become a fool.' 'Okay, come quickly,' Fang Bing said after hanging up the phone, immediately turning to the others, 'Hurry up and help, straighten up Ma Ye.' 'Wait, I don't trust Wang Hao, wait for the doctor's call? The call has come... I'll decide after I answer it,' Ma Ling stopped Fang Bing, just as her phone also rang. 'Okay, I will handle it as you instructed...' Ma Ling nodded in agreement, her face showing an apologetic look towards Fang Bing, hesitated for a moment before saying, 'Doctor, a classmate of mine said to press on both sides of the protrusion on the neck, is this method reliable?' 'Brilliant, if you handle it this way, when we arrive, there's a great chance that the bitten person will survive, and doing so can delay the toxin from entering the bitten person's brain.' Ma Ling hung up the phone, but Fang Bing looked at her indifferently and said to the others, 'Aren't you going to help?' The other students came to their senses and immediately started to help in a flurry. 'I'm sorry...' Ma Ling said with an apologetic expression to Fang Bing. 'It's not me you should be apologizing to, it's Wang Hao, it's Ma Ye, definitely not me. If this call had come later, Ma Ye would probably have become a fool by the time the doctor arrived,' Fang Bing shook his head and said softly, his fingers feeling around Ma Ye's neck, then quickly used two fingers to slightly pry open and press down forcefully. 'Is Wang Hao on his way?'

Ma Ling's face showed a hint of shame, but after hesitating for a moment, she spoke. 'Yes... it shouldn't take too long.' ... 'I'm afraid I won't be able to join you for the meal, a classmate has been bitten by a green snake on Grass Mountain, I need to go over there right away,' Wang Hao said after hanging up the phone with Fang Bing. Then he turned to Lan Wei and continued, 'Lan Wei, quickly go get some herbs and bring them to Grass Mountain later.' 'Okay.' 'I'm leaving first.' Wang Hao knew he couldn't delay, as the green snake venom spreads very quickly, and he must get there as soon as possible. 'Xiao Hao, we'll go with you,' Zhang's father hurriedly said. 'You wait and come with Lan Wei later, be careful on the road,' Wang Hao said as he rushed out before Zhang's father finished speaking, without stopping, he headed straight towards Grass Mountain. It was at least three mountain tops away from here, and time did not allow him to delay; he needed to get there as fast as possible. 'The green snake, its venom spreads very quickly after a bite, and if not treated in time, it can lead to death. If the treatment is delayed and the toxin enters the brain, it can damage the brain nerves, making it difficult to repair.'

Zhang Xin took out his phone and started checking, reciting some characteristics of the green snake. Suddenly, they understood why Wang Hao had left in such a hurry; if they accompanied him, they would indeed become Wang Hao's burden. ... Wang Hao moved through the forest at an extremely fast speed, as if walking on flat ground. Even when encountering broken trees or one-meter-high cliffs blocking the way, he leaped over them with ease. His physical fitness was too good, and beneath his normal muscles lay a terrifying strength. With a level 6 body training, he was even more formidable than some soldiers who had undergone long-term professional military training. However, Wang Hao had never actually compared himself with others, so he wasn't sure how abnormal his physical strength was. Anyway, in terms of running speed and jumping ability, he had almost reached the limits of the human body. "I'll be there soon," Wang Hao thought, his speed increasing once again. Now Wang Hao was like a cheetah walking through the forest, his speed lightning-fast. On the grassy mountain, Ma Ling and the leading teacher were nervously watching Ma Ye, who was supported by many male classmates, while Fang Bing stood behind Ma Ye, nervously pressing down on the area below his neck. "What is that?" As all attention was focused on Ma Ye, suddenly someone screamed, their hand trembling as they pointed in a direction. "What is that... It's moving so fast, I couldn't see clearly..." "Coming towards us, could it be some wild beast?!!

As dusk approached, the light gradually dimmed with the setting sun. After a classmate's startled cry, many students looked over and immediately noticed the extremely fast movement heading towards them. Fang Bing's gaze, however, was one of joy. He hadn't seen the movement, but the direction pointed out by the classmate was the direction of Lanjia Village. He had previously witnessed Wang Hao's terrifying physical fitness, so he naturally guessed that this might be Wang Hao coming. "Hao Ge, hurry up, my hand is numb," Fang Bing shouted urgently. His fingers dared not relax even slightly, because beneath his neck, many of the blood vessels under his skin were slowly turning black. At this moment, Ma Ye's desperate expression suddenly filled with an extremely strong will to survive, because he was gradually feeling a loss of control over his body, his limbs slowly becoming numb.
