Pocket Farming
This little dog was only as big as a palm, having just opened its eyes not long ago. It lay listlessly on a piece of rag, emitting a faint and barely audible whimpering sound. The dog's right hind leg was a bloody mess, likely crushed by a wheel, and surely fractured. A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of its mouth, its abdomen heaved rapidly, accompanied by spasms, and its breathing was already becoming difficult.
With such severe injuries, even an adult dog might not survive, let alone a puppy that had just opened its eyes.
No wonder the owner of the Passat threw it out of the car!
Seemingly sensing Liu Rui's footsteps, the little dog opened its eyes slightly.
What kind of eyes were these?
The flawless black pupils shone with a clear luster, a faint but pure light of life that even the sun in the sky would pale in comparison.
The small eyes kept scrutinizing the surroundings, as if trying to deeply imprint the world it had just arrived in onto its heart. The innocent and pitiful look in the puppy's eyes was like a little hand, gently kneading Liu Rui's heart, causing his whole body to break out in goosebumps. Liu Rui felt a jolt in his heart, and an impulse surged within him—to save this little dog! Liu Rui squatted down, carefully controlling the spatial spring water to flow from the fingertips of his right hand, cleaning the puppy's wounds, and feeding it some of the spring water. This spring water had amazing effects on crops, so it must contain some kind of magical energy. Liu Rui hoped it would have the same effect on animals. The puppy seemed to understand that Liu Rui was helping it, lying still and letting Liu Rui handle it, its little eyes staring at him, making Liu Rui suddenly feel a doubled sense of pressure! Perhaps it was the effect of the spring water, or maybe it was Liu Rui's psychological effect, but he felt that the puppy's condition had improved a bit, its eyes moving more freely, and it seemed to convey a hint of gratitude. Unexpectedly, his desperate attempt had accidentally worked, and the joy in Liu Rui's heart was naturally indescribable. After some thought, Liu Rui simply sent the puppy into the Shennong Space, as the environment there was more comfortable. Otherwise, in such hot weather outside, the puppy would not be able to hold on until they got home. Liu Rui did not want the puppy he had gone through so much trouble to save to die on the way; that would be an extremely depressing thing.
As for whether putting living creatures inside would have any adverse effects on the Shennong Space, Liu Rui couldn't care less at the moment. On his way home, Liu Rui kept distracting himself by observing the little dog in the space, and finally, he noticed that its condition seemed to be getting better. Its breathing was not as rapid as before, the wound had stopped bleeding, and its two shiny eyes were constantly moving around, as if it was sizing up this strange environment. Seeing this, Liu Rui finally breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed that the Shennong Space was indeed quite magical. The spring water inside the space could not only accelerate the growth of crops and enhance their flavor, but now it could also heal the wounds of animals.
Returning home the same way, Liu Rui hurriedly ate lunch and then once again entered the orchard behind the mountain, ready to thoroughly study the various functions of the Shennong Space. Upon arriving at the longan orchard, Liu Rui was shocked by what he saw! The longan trees, which had been drooping for some time, seemed to have transformed; even under the scorching sun, they remained upright and unaffected. The fruits, which were originally only the size of chopstick heads, had grown a whole circle overnight, and Liu Rui could see it with his naked eye. It seemed that the spring water was not only effective on vegetables but also had a noticeable effect on the longan trees! Worried that this was just an isolated case, Liu Rui inspected each tree and found that the changes in the longan trees were not exceptions, but rather the entire orchard had entered a vibrant state.
Compared to its previous mediocre growth, the longan orchard is now nothing short of a model demonstration garden. Some time ago, Liu Rui followed a visiting group organized by the town government to learn from counties with large areas of longan cultivation and witnessed the model orchards supported and built by experts from the Provincial Agricultural University. These model orchards were meticulous in every aspect, from variety selection, seedling cultivation, planting, to fertilization. The longan trees they grew were robust and healthy, with an extremely high fruiting rate.
At that time, Liu Rui was extremely envious, thinking to himself that if his own orchard could be half as good, it would be enough to burn incense and worship Buddha. Unexpectedly, in just one night, his own orchard underwent a revolutionary change. Apart from the facilities still being a bit behind, the other conditions were even better than those model orchards.
After taking a walk around, Liu Rui's mood improved a lot. The space spring water could increase crop yields, which would be a huge positive for his family's currently precarious financial situation. Based on the current situation, the longan orchard could at least increase production by one-third, and the appearance of the longans seemed to have improved a lot, so the price might also go up a bit.
Entering the Shennong Space, Liu Rui felt a wave of comfort. The temperature inside the space was stable at around twenty-seven or twenty-eight degrees Celsius, and it wasn't as dry as an air-conditioned room. As soon as Liu Rui entered, he felt the fatigue gradually dissipating.
Discovering Liu Rui's entry into the space, the small dog lying on the ground let out a grunt, appearing much more spirited.
It struggled to get up, but unfortunately, it was still a bit weak. After several attempts, it failed and had no choice but to lie on the ground, panting.
Seeing the little dog regain its spirit, Liu Rui was very happy, but he soon began to worry about what to feed the little guy.
Putting the matter of the little dog aside, Liu Rui decided to plant the seeds he had bought first.
Originally, Liu Rui had brought a small hoe, planning to cultivate the land as usual, but he unexpectedly discovered that he could control everything in the space with his mind, and there was no need to do it manually.
As a result, the three parts of black soil that would normally take half a day to sow were all planted by Liu Rui in just half an hour through the control of his mind. After watering them all with the spring water from the space, Liu Rui exited the space full of anticipation.
As for the little dog, because the space was very helpful for the recovery of its wounds, Liu Rui ignored the little guy's somewhat plaintive gaze and left it inside.
After planting these seeds, the only thing Liu Rui could do was to wait, looking forward to seeing wonderful scenes in the space in the near future.
